\"\"The national Regional Development Agency will be reorganized into an Agency for Construction and Territory Development, and the regional development functions will be relegated to the recently established Ministry of Local Public Administration. To legitimize these changes, the Cabinet of Ministers yesterday approved a draft amendment to Article 24 in the Law on the Government. <\/p>\n

The Cabinet proposed yet another amendment – to abolish the National Migration Bureau and to relegate the Bureau’s functions – shaping and implementation of migration policy, control over labor migration, issuance of work permits to foreigners, granting the worker’s status to migrants, organization of employment abroad and protection of migrant workers – over to the Ministry of Economy and Trade. <\/p>\n

The functions of invitation, entry of foreigners to Moldova, visa issue and extension, granting the status of repatriate and immigrant, asylum provision functions, refugees, and other immigration-related questions shall be vested in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration. <\/p>\n

The Ministries of Local Public Administration, Economy and Trade, and the Interior have been set a task to submit to the Government for consideration within a month a new structure of the Ministries, their staff list, and activity provisions. <\/p>\n
