Situation at the Varnitsa berth is under military observers’ control, Infotag was told by sources from the peacekeeper force command. <\/p>\n

According to the Moldovan Ministry of Reintegration, last Friday the Transnistrian military made an attempt to occupy the berth near the Varnitsa village. The berth, which is under Moldova’s jurisdiction, was attacked from two sides – from land and from water, on boats. Having caught the object, the Transnistrian military tried to drive away the facility’s motor vehicles. <\/p>\n

According to the official Tiraspol, however, the Varnitsa berth is a subdivision of the Bendery river port, and it was leased to a Moldovan company. The company fail to pay rent accurately. So, the Bendery town’s commissariat of the interior has decided to deploy a guard post at the berth. When 5 militia officers had arrived at the object, the Varnitsa administration stated, "the Transnistrian military are occupying the Moldovan territory". <\/p>\n

Fortunately, the peacekeepers’ interference permitted to avoid a major incident and situation aggravation.
