Moldovan Reintegration Minister Vasili Sova has made available to MOLDPRES the following statement: <\/p>\n

"We regret the fact that Russia does not give an adequate political appreciation over the situation created on the Transnistrian segment of the Moldovan-Ukrainian state border. According to the information presented to the public by the Russian electronic press, Ukraine and Moldova implement measures for the Transnistrian region’s economic blockade. It is a lie, with serious effects over the Transnistrian region’s rezidents. <\/p>\n

While the Chisinau authorities put into application, inclusively following the Transnistrian enterprises’ demand, the Transnistrian business’ legalising mechanism, and created all the necessary conditions, so that the Transnistrian entrepreneurs could conduct import-export operations with all the countries, the Tiraspol authorities have initiated the region’s complete economic self-isolation. The blocking of transit goods from Russia and Ukraine, the introduction of the strict prohibition against the Transnistrian enterprises’ registration on favourable terms in Chisinau, the intimidation of entrepreneurs and ordinary people – this is the true picture of the real situation in Transnistria. There is no blockade. There is the Tiraspol administration’s cinic arbitrariness against the region’s population and entrepreneurs. <\/p>\n

We express regret, that several Russian representatives are trying to defend everything that happens at present in Transnistria, referring to the Memorandum from 1997. Unfortunately, those who form a detailed argumentation for the Russian Foreign Ministry’s leadership, do not sincerelly fulfill their duties. It is known that the use of this document provided at the time for the working out of concrete mechanisms for the implementation of separate parts of it. As far as it is known, there have not appeared any workings of the kind over the last nine years. Moreover, the Memorandum from 1997 does not have any connection to the procedure of goods crossing the Moldovan-Ukrainian state border. <\/p>\n

Given the present situation, it is necessary to start, first of all, from the Transnistrian business’ needs for legalization, offering it the possibility to conduct normal export-import operations, create favourable conditions for the Transnistrian enterprises, which are at present in conditions of Transnistrian administration’s brutal dicatorship. <\/p>\n

The Transnistrian region’s economy has to come out of the shadow and stop being the hostage of permanent suspicions and criminal reputation.
