Only criminal structures and structures following personal or group interests in the region do not want the securing of the Moldovan-Ukrainian border, Premier Vasile Tarlev told a news conference on Monday. <\/p>\n

Also, he described the critical reaction of the Russian Foreign Ministry to the new exportation rules as hasty and as a consequence of misinformation. Contacted by BASA to learn what measures the executive has taken against such a reaction, Tarlev said that the dialogue with Moscow develops at the level of embassy, Foreign Ministry, government and presidency. <\/p>\n

He expressed hope that the statements of Russians regarding the economic blockade against the Transnistrian region<\/font><\/u> will not have a continuation. "The inconveniences related to different opinions of Chisinau and Moscow regarding the Transnistrian settlement are regretful, but this is the only problem in our bilateral relations," Tarlev noted. <\/p>\n

Tarlev denied categorically the allegations that Chisinau intends to introduce an economic blockade on the separatist region and stressed that Moldova has created better conditions for the Transnistria-based businesses than for enterprises based on the right bank of the Dniester river. "We do not want a war with anybody. They have so many problems that we must help them through endowments to reach the level of the entire country," the prime minister noted. <\/p>\n

He thanked Kiev, the OSCE, the European Union for supporting the implementation of the agreement on border securing and exportation of Transnistrian goods on basis of the Moldovan customs stamp only. Tarlev underlined that Moldova enjoys international support in this respect. <\/p>\n

According to updated data unveiled by Premier Tarlev, the Tiraspol administration has stopped about 800 cargo carriages that transited Moldova to Galati, Romania, and Reni, Ukraine. "These problems are being discussed, but we have informed all states about redirection of trains through the northern region, on the Revaca-Cainari railway, in order to avoid such situations," Tarlev noted. He underlined that the executive is ready to compensate eventual expense of entrepreneurs related to the redirection of the route. <\/p>\n

Ukraine allows the exportation of Transnistrian goods on basis of the Moldovan customs stamp only, starting March 3. Tiraspol and Moscow have described this decision as an attempt to set up an economic blockade on the region.
