The Social Liberal Party (PSL) calls for isolation of the Transnistrian region<\/font> by establishing an internal border, without recognising its independence, PSL leader Oleg Serebrian stated to the parliament on Friday. <\/p>\n

Serebrian motivated the need of this action through inefficiency of the present negotiation format and the fact that the stake of Chisinau on Ukraine after the Ukrainian pro-West forces have won the elections was false. "Kiev follows other goals than Chisinau does, while the larger negotiation format is as inefficient as the precedent ones," Serebrian underlined. <\/p>\n

He noted that Chisinau’s concessions are not endless and Moldova cannot wait for Ukraine to accept the joint customs stations because the border security problem can be unilaterally solved. <\/p>\n

Although he called for introduction of taxes for crossing of the Transnistrian products over the Dniester river, Serebrian stressed that he does not mean the blocking up of the internal border. "The crossing of the Dniester river will be possible, but not uncontrolled," he explained. <\/p>\n

According to the PSL leader, the authorities must focus their efforts in order to make Moldova a developed and attractive country. "We have tried to persuade over the need of reintegration through our patriotic messages to residents from the region, but how could we make them decide when those from the right bank of the Dniester river do not know how to escape from Moldova?" Serebrian wondered. He highlighted the need to freeze the conflict, to organise a media campaign on this problem and to promote some viable economic reforms on the right bank of the Dniester river. <\/p>\n
