The members and veterans of the Soroca raion organization of the Christian Democratic Popular Party have resolutely demanded to convoke an extraordinary party congress to dismiss the incumbent CDPP leadership – party leader Iurie Rosca and his deputies Vlad Cubreacov and Stefan Secareanu. <\/p>\n

In the Statement signed by 50 delegates to the recent raion CDPP conference, they wrote that the CDPP leadership is indifferent to the catastrophic situation developing in the party, and is unable to repair the crisis. <\/p>\n

"The image of our party, its political activeness and public trust in it have suffered greatly. The real situation in the localities is just disastrous, and – due to the in-born dictatorial manners of the party’s central leadership – things keep on deteriorating. Knowingly or not, the Christian Democratic Popular Party has entered into a catastrophic political collapse", the Soroca organization members believe. <\/p>\n

In their conviction, the very fact that CDPP parliamentarians voted last year for re-electing Communist Vladimir Voronin as President of Moldova signified degradation of the party which used to be the only real opposition in the country, a force which the Communists had to reckon until recently. <\/p>\n

The Soroca frontists [Popular Front is the CDPP’s previous name] wrote, "We would like the CDPP leadership to tender resignation at the extraordinary congress.
