The US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, David Kramer, believes that the USA’s and the European Union’s (EU) participation in the 5+2 negotiations in the Transnistrian settlement process is productive. <\/p>\n

The appreciation was made within a 27 February round table organized at the Foreign and European Integration Ministry, according to the Foreign Ministry’s press service. <\/p>\n

The participants appreciated the positive dynamic registered over the last years in the relations with the USA, the political dialogue’s consistence, the bilateral relations’ frequency, but also their quality, which according to them, proves the fact that the USA is Moldova’s sure partner in the Transnistrian settlement process, as well as the most consequent supporter of the country’s efforts of European integration, promotion of economic and democratic reforms. <\/p>\n

The participants exchanged opinions on the evolution of the situation in the geographical zone Moldova belongs to, the bilateral relations with the neighbouring countries, and the prospects of developing the Moldovan-American collaboration. They pointed out the opportunity to continue the practice of bilateral consultations on the most stringent problems included on the agenda of Moldova’s foreign policy. <\/p>\n

They discussed various aspects of security in the former Soviet area, and the energy security, the evolution of events after the elections in Belarus and Ukraine.
