\"\"One year after the signature of the Moldova-EU Action Plan the European Commission is satisfied with the results achieved by Moldova in the implementation of its stipulations, Head of the EU delegation to Moldova Cesare de Montis said, adding that the Commission is expecting concrete actions in the field of human rights, combating corruption and in the implementation of the justice reform. All the subjects mentioned by the European official are not found in the Government’s priorities for 2006 announced Thursday by Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Andrei Stratan. <\/p>\n

Cesare de Montis and Andrei Stratan held Thursday a press conference devoted to a year since the signature of Moldova-EU Action Plan. The European Commission welcomes Moldova’s pro-European aspirations, but Brussels is expecting “better” results, especially in the implementation of the judicial reform, combating corruption and observance of human rights, the Italian diplomat told. <\/p>\n

The three directions mentioned by Cesare de Montis were not included in the list of Government’s priorities for 2006 announced by Minister Andrei Stratan. Moldovan authorities plan to orient their efforts towards the consolidation of the democracy and state of law, the creation of a favorable investment climate, the getting of the EU asymmetric trade regime, the initiation of the dialogue regarding the simplification of the visas regime with the EU and the ensurance of the energy security of the country, Stratan said. <\/p>\n

“Nobody knows how long the accession process will take. What is more important is that Moldova assumes the rules of the game in this space,” Montis said. <\/p>\n

Brussels welcomed the resumption of Moldova’s cooperation with the IMF. Depending on Moldova’s successes, it can extend the financial help offered to Moldova, the EU Ambassador told. According to de Montis, until the present the EU offered on average by nine euros per capita as assistance to Moldova. <\/p>\n

The next meeting of the Moldova-EU Cooperation Committee is set for April. <\/p>\n
