The case of Moldovan former Minister of Defense Valeriu Pasat will be considered – in the context of the Moldovan judicial system functioning – at the February 21 meeting of the EU-Moldova Parliamentary Cooperation Committee to be held in Brussels. <\/p>\n

Pasat’s lawyer George Amihalachioae stated he did not ask the Committee to consider this case, and remarked that this European structure is going to examine, for the first time ever, the question of Moldovan judicial system functioning and the concrete verdict of a Moldovan court without Chisinau’s request. "This is a proof of how serious the Pasat case is", said lawyer Amihalachioae. <\/p>\n

The meeting’s agenda includes two more questions – perspectives of Transnistrian conflict settlement and Moldova’s energy security in the context of growing gas prices. <\/p>\n
