A Moldovan delegation led by Deputy Reintegration Minister Victor Postolachi attended the meeting in Odessa on the new regime of goods transit through the Moldovan-Ukrainian border. At the meeting the Moldovan officials have been informed that the economic agents from the left bank of the Dniester are being intimidated by Transdniestrian authorities into not registering their businesses in Moldovan, a communiqué released by the Ministry of Reintegration informs. <\/p>\n

The registration procedures established by the Moldovan Government aim at legalizing the flow of goods via the Moldovan-Ukrainian border, at increasing the transparency and at introducing clear procedures for foreign trade. This will create the best conditions for the activity of all the economic agents and enterprises from the left bank of the Dniester, the Moldovan side says. These innovations will also put an end to some “dirty businesses lead by Tiraspol leaders, which throw a bad light on the activity of the honest economic agents from the region,” the press release reads. <\/p>\n

At the same time, Tiraspol representatives assert that by imposing these new rules on the economic agents from the region, the official Chisinau wants to gain control of Transdniestria’s foreign commercial activity. This could lead to an economic crisis in the region, they say. <\/p>\n
