The Chairman of the ChristianDemocratic Popular Front, Iurie Rosca, believes PF and the Partyof Democratic Forces should take part in local election as onebloc.<\/p>\n

"This would be an optimum formula for democratic forces", hestated in the Chisinau Press Club last night.<\/p>\n

PDF leader Valeriu Matei, who also participated in the Clubsitting, presumes both organizations should wait till the partyre-registration campaign is over and its results are announced.<\/p>\n

The Press Club had invited for the Thursday sitting alsoParliament Chairman Dumitru Diakov, head of the parliamentaryDemocratic Convention faction Mircea Snegur, and leader of theCommunist Party faction Vladimir Voronin. However, the three didnot come to meet with journalists.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the ongoing government formation, Mr Mateistressed the Cabinet must meet 3 conditions: to promote thepreservation of the majority Alliance for Democracy and Reform(ADR), to be reformatory, and not to lose the trust ofinternational financial institutions.<\/p>\n

Valeriu Matei believes the government formation process will notlead to either an ADR split or an early parliamentary election.<\/p>\n

In Rosca’s opinion, the main struggle is now developing betweenthe old and new political classes, "so I cannot either fear oradmire the Serafim Urechean’s candidature".<\/p>\n

"Either Urechean does not perceive his new appointment seriouslyand wants to remain the Chisinau Mayor, or he is just onlybeginning to comprehend some things", Rosca remarked.<\/p>\n

"I do not know whether the new Government is approved or not.The Popular Front should have at least a minimum motivation tovote for this Cabinet. Meanwhile, there is not a single PF nameon the list of ministers", he said.<\/p>\n
